Enchanted evening

Ray and I emerge after long hours in his smithy, engrossed in our work making hinges for the Settmour Swamp Baronial seats, to find snow falling quietly through the trees. I love the snow the peace it brings and home I go to my Lady who awaits, to share this late winters eve with hot cocoa and fire.

We modified some heavy-duty 'strap' hinges from the Home Despot. Disassembled and trimmed to shape, removed the galvanizing with wire wheel, hammered a bit, then into the flames (crackle crackle crackle) heated to a dull red and quenched in oil. They look pretty good. Thanks, Ray!
